Cancellation Policy

Cancellations apply to students who pay for Private Online Classes through Linguaspectrum.

Cancellation of booked classes

You can cancel a booked class by using the automatic cancellation feature of the booking calendar. This is available to you as soon as you book your classes and full instructions are provided.

You must cancel any booked class at least 24 hours before the start time (Spanish Time). If you do not give at least 24 hours notice of cancellation of a booked class, it will be deemed a missed class and a two credit charge will apply.

Reschedule Classes

If you give more than 24 hours notice of cancellation of a booked class, you can reschedule the class at a time and date to suit you (depending on availability of class times).

If you give less than 24 hours notice of cancellation of a booked class, or if you fail to take a booked class at the time and date arranged, two credits will be charged to your account because another student could have made use of the class time you had booked.

The two credits also cover the 15 minutes I must wait for a student to show up for the class. After 15 minutes have passed without a student coming online, I consider the class missed.

The two credits apply to both Conversation and Intensive classes.

Introductory Classes

An Introductory Class time and date must be agreed by the student before the class. This will be confirmed by email.

Students must make every effort to attend the class at the agreed time and date. If a student fails to take the class at the agreed time and date, another date may be offered. The student must agree to this second offer of a class time and date. This will be confirmed by email.

Students must make every effort to attend the class at the second agreed time and date. If a student fails to take the class at the second agreed time and date, no further class times or dates will be offered. No refunds will be given.

However, depending on the circumstances, I may, at my discretion, reschedule the Introductory Class a second time.

Class Start Time

Classes start promptly at the time booked. Classes last for as long as the student has requested, up to a maximum of 2 hours - 120 minutes. If a student attends class late, the class will nevertheless have begun from the booked time.

If a student is more than 15 minutes late in starting the class, the class will not be started and will be classed as missed. This is because we cannot complete a class in under 15 minutes.

Two credits will be deducted from the student's credit account each time a class is missed. This is because another student could have made use of the booked class time and to cover the 15 minutes I spend waiting for a student to arrive.

Refund Policy

Applies to all paid services provided by Linguaspectrum.

Introductory Class - the nominal fee charged for the Introductory Class is non-refundable once the time and date of the arranged class has passed. The arranged class time is the time and date agreed with the student by email.

Credits - If you have bought credits, you can request a refund if you have used less than 6 credits and you bought the credits during the previous 30 days. If you have used 6 credits or more, you will not be given a refund.

Any money refunded will not include the credits already used. These credits will be charged at the single credit rate.

Technical Failure

You are responsible for ensuring that you have a fast enough Internet connection, working headphones or speakers, a working microphone at the time of your booked class. A webcam is optional.

If you cannot take your class because of problems with your equipment or Internet connection, you will be responsible. In such an event the class will be considered as missed.

If I am unable to give your class at the booked time for any reason other than those given above, a new class time will be arranged to suit you at no extra cost. However, no refunds will be given.

How Long are Your Bought Credits Valid For?

Any credits you have bought are valid for 12 months from the time of your last purchase of any credits.

Competition Winners

From time to time, we will run competitions that are free to enter for new and existing Linguaspectrum students. Competition winners will be announced on the webiste, on the Forum, or by email. Competition winners must take advantage of the service they win within the time set in the competition rules. The time scale can be varied at our discretion.
